Now our garden is actually showing off some of its beauty. The tulips are blooming, the pulmonaria is thriving, and our primrose are goregous. Patrick is so proud. The hosta are slow coming up but just wait, they'll soon be up and happy.
I am a stay-at-home-mom, and cancer survivor. I maybe fighting metastatic breast cancer, but I am optimistic for a long life. I have chosen to stop working to stay home with our little boy, Parker. In addition we have two pet cockatiels and a dog. Patrick and I have been married since 2008. We feel very blessed to have such wonderful friends and families.
Prior to staying home, I was a graduate student at the University of Iowa, working on my PhD in Immunology. I continued my research right up until I learned of my bone mets, afterwhich I decided to take some time off. Because I had met all the requirements for graduation, I was still granted my PhD degree in Dec 2012.
